For Michael and everyone that will read this book, this is only the beginning. Adewale – My Mother’s Son would make for a good biopic. One can imagine big screenwriters flipping through the pages with more than a keen eye and interest.

If you believe in miracles, you will find this book enjoyable as the very existence of Michael, the author, is a sign that miracles do happen even to the downtrodden.

Michael takes you from the barely imaginable edges of colonial Lagos as a village, through Emuren and Benin, telling such a hopeful, yet tragic story. There were so many emotions drawing me apart this book: anger, pain, fear and despair. But one thing this book has done is point out an eternal truth: we can secure the society by empowering women.
